Couples
Therapy
Collaborative support for partners who want to communicate more effectively, work through conflict, rebuild connection, or better understand the patterns affecting their relationship.
Couples therapy at Create & Connect provides a confidential space where both partners have an opportunity to be heard. With the perspective of a neutral therapist, couples can explore disagreements, disappointments, and recurring patterns while developing healthier ways of communicating, responding, and connecting.
Available in person and by telehealth, based on service area and clinician availability.
Good Fit?
Is Couples Therapy Right for You?
Couples therapy may be a good fit when something in your relationship is not working the way you want it to, whether the concern feels significant or you simply want to strengthen your relationship before problems become larger.
You do not need to agree on exactly what the problem is before beginning therapy. Your first appointment is a place for both partners to share their perspectives, identify what is bringing you to therapy, and determine whether working together feels like the right next step.

Rebuilding trust after hurt, disappointment, or a significant relationship rupture

The Process
What to Expect
1. Review the information on this page
Before requesting an appointment, review the service details, appointment options, fees, insurance information, and cancellation policy to make sure individual therapy is a good fit for your needs.
2. Request an appointment
When you are ready, submit an appointment request with your preferred contact method, appointment format, and general availability. We will follow up with available appointment options.
3. Complete brief intake forms
Before your first appointment, each partner may be asked to complete intake forms and review practice policies. These forms help your therapist understand your relationship, prepare for your first session, and ensure both partners understand important information about services, payment, confidentiality, and scheduling.
4. Meet with your therapist
At a time that works for you, meet with your therapist in person or by telehealth. Your first session is an opportunity for both partners to share what brings you to therapy, discuss what each of you hopes will change, ask questions, and begin identifying goals for your work together. Your therapist is there to support the relationship rather than take sides. Sessions focus on understanding the experiences and needs of each partner, identifying the patterns happening between you, and helping you practice healthier ways of communicating and responding.
Therapy goals are developed collaboratively and may change over time as your needs and circumstances evolve.
Scheduling
Important Scheduling Information
Because couples sessions involve multiple schedules, we encourage both partners to choose appointment times they can consistently attend together.
Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be charged 50% of the regular session fee. Emergency circumstances are considered individually.
Crisis Resources
Create & Connect is an outpatient practice and does not provide 24/7 crisis intervention. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency department.
Next Steps
Start With the Right Next Step
If you are looking for couples therapy and want support improving communication, addressing conflict, rebuilding connection, or creating healthier relationship patterns, begin with a service-fit request.
You do not have to know exactly what needs to change before you begin. You simply need a willingness to talk openly about what is happening, hear one another’s perspectives, and explore what a healthier relationship could look like moving forward.
